Stericycle is changing our business processes and customer systems during the fall of 2022. These changes are being made to help improve your customer experience.

As a Regulated Medical Waste customer with services in Puerto Rico, you will notice the following key changes:

  • A new, updated customer portal mystericycle.pr where you can find, download, and pay your invoices and billing statements, download electronic versions of paper manifests and make requests to update your service schedule.
  • A re-designed invoice with improved service details and billing information, including account balances.
  • A 28-day service schedule.
  • A new label for your regulated medical waste containers.
  • If you are only a Shred-it customer, you will not experience any changes. Customers who receive RMW services (except for Kiosk and Mail-Back) in Puerto Rico are affected by the changes.

As Stericycle continues to grow, we need to upgrade our tools to best serve you and your customers. This expansion will help us protect you and your customers with improved information, scheduling and billing, and invoicing information.

  • As a Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) customer with services in Puerto Rico, you will receive a new customer number, which is required to access your account information.
  • You will receive access to your RMW account through a new customer portal. Visit mystericycle.pr.
  • You will also receive access to a new Auto Pay system with secure payment access and setup.
  • You must use your new RMW customer number to register for the new portal and for Auto Pay services.
  • You will receive a new waste label to apply to your medical waste containers in Puerto Rico.
  • You may be asked to confirm your current addresses and contact information to ensure you receive all communications related to these changes.

No, your costs will not be impacted. The changes only affect how we communicate with you about the service and increase the number of ways you can access information about your service.

  • We will email your new customer number to your email contacts by the end of October. If you do not receive an email, you can contact our customer relations team at 800-697-4733.
  • After Oct 31, you will find your new customer number on the invoice and in your portal. You may also call our Customer Experience line and request your new number.  Have your old customer number handy.

The invoice will be structurally different and have new features. These features include:

  • Your New Customer Number
  • You will see a combined Stericycle brand and Shred-it brand
  • A new remit, or return, address
  • You will see a breakout of the total balance paid and balance forward across all RWM accounts

For a detailed preview please see our full breakdown of the invoice changes.

Depending upon the type of services you have with Stericycle you could receive multiple invoices. You will continue to receive Shred-it invoice or invoices for those services. Beginning in November you will receive a new Stericycle invoice for Regulated Medical Waste services. If you have other services outside of these two solutions, you will receive an invoice for those services. You will have specific customer account numbers for each of these services.

  • To provide more timely and accurate information regarding your service, the annual schedule will no longer be available. Instead, you will receive notifications about upcoming service.
  • A regular customer who gets service more than once every four weeks will receive a 28-day calendar every two weeks. You can also access the upcoming services in the refreshed customer portal.
  • For customers with frequency less than once every four weeks, you will receive a 28-day calendar every two weeks and a 2-day notification. You can also access the upcoming services in the refreshed customer portal.
  • One-Time purge customers will receive a 2-day notification and can view their schedule in the refreshed customer portal.

You will receive a new, different Regulated Medical Waste customer number and a new Customer Portal for services in Puerto Rico. You must register for the new portal with your new medical waste customer number. If you use Auto Pay for your medical waste or compliance services, you must re-register for autopayment on the new portal.

MedDrop Consumer Medication services and Hazardous Drug Disposal (HDDS)  are not changing at this time.  As a customer of those services, you will continue to receive the same invoice process and bill for those services and access your current customer portal. However, you will use a different account number and portal for your Regulated Waste Services.

  • These changes will affect most Puerto Rico Medical Waste and Compliance customers. However, if you are an Hazardous Drug Disposal or MedDrop services customer, this change does not impact you.
  • Customers who receive RMW services (except for Kiosk and Mail-Back) in Puerto Rico are affected by the changes.

We have supplied customer guides for each service. You may also contact Stericycle customer service with any questions at 800-697-4733.

The new system including customer portals launched October 31st.

  • Help us make sure we have your correct contact, billing, and service locations as well as a correct email address.
  • Make sure you and your team are familiar with your new customer number. This number gives you access to pay your bill and schedule service through our self-service channels. It will also help to expedite any interactions when calling customer relations.
  • If you have a Stericycle Account Manager, you may reach out to your Account Manager for more information.
  • Reach out to your account representative or send an email to customer-relations@stericycle.com or call 800-697-4733.
