Frequently Asked Questions

Many of Stericycle's standard business continuity and contingency plans apply to potential risks from a possible Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Each of our transportation and treatment locations have pre-designated alternate facilities in the case of shutdown. Given our national footprint and breadth of staff, we have flexibility to deploy operational team members to alternate locations in the event of a facility-specific staffing shortage.

Due to confidentiality and other factors we cannot share the specific plans.

Stericycle is primarily a direct business to business service company. While Stericycle has specific supply needs, our team has reviewed all essential supplies and inventories, and we do not see any major supplies at risk at this time that would create business continuity issues. We will continue to evaluate the market and adjust activities and communications as needed.

Given our national footprint and breadth of staff, we have flexibility to deploy operational team members to alternate locations in the event of a facility-specific staffing shortage.  Each of our transportation and treatment locations have pre-designated alternate facilities in the case of shutdown.

Stericycle also operates various business lines in most of our cities, this allows us to share resources and staffing across multiple business as needed.

Stericycle has contingency plans built as part of standard course of operations, prepared for any emergency. We are accustomed to numerous urgent and unplanned weather events, outages and unexpected incidents to be able to manage wastes throughout our network of facilities. The redundancies in our transportation and treatment facilities allow for shifting workloads and waste.  We are providing additional cross functional training to key locations and team members to ensure additional flexibility in our processes.

Portions of our operations have the ability to be managed remotely. Likewise, most of our management and field sales team members have the capability to work from home.

We take appropriate measures to limit risks to our team members, and monitor the situation, evolving our preparedness and risk mitigation plans as appropriate.
