Florida Medical Waste Requirements and Regulations

We care about your business needs and make sure that we are in compliance with Federal and State of Florida regulations. Florida’s regulations on biomedical waste management can be found in Chapter 64E-16 of the Florida Administrative Code.

Florida’s medical waste disposal regulations are managed by the Department of Health, Bureau of Environmental Health. Complete details on state requirements can be found by contacting the Florida Department of Health or the Bureau of Community Environmental Health.

The interior storage area should be impervious to water, have restricted access, with no carpeting in the area - rough cement must be sealed. Containers must be removed within 30 days after the container is closed.
