Regulated medical waste should be stored in a secure location that offers protection from theft, weather elements, and inadvertent human or animal exposure. It should not generate noxious odors.
For generators of medical/infectious wastes (hospitals, clinical laboratories, nursing and health care facilities, etc.) the Wyoming Division of Health and Medical Services has published standards, rules, and regulations that require such institutions to establish and follow acceptable plans controlling the collection, handling, segregation, treatment, and disposal of medical/infectious wastes.
