The Opioid Epidemic and Unused Prescriptions Study
The misuse of and addiction to opioids, including prescription pain relievers, is a serious national crisis that government, healthcare and community leaders are working to solve. While we know solving the opioid epidemic is a complex issue, we believe that preventing prescription opioids from getting into unintended hands is an important and overlooked step in the fight against the opioid epidemic.
To understand consumer knowledge of the opioid epidemic, practices around drug disposal and interest in drug takeback programs that could help fight the opioid epidemic, we conducted a study, “The Opioid Epidemic and Unused Prescriptions,” among 1,200 U.S. consumers age 18+.
