COVID-19 Response

Stericycle’s mission is to protect health and well-being in a safe, responsible, and sustainable way. That’s why we’re partnering with our customers to better understand their requirements for COVID-19 vaccinations, testing, and/or additional safety measures.

We are committed to complying with local, state, and federal regulations in the U.S. as well as provincial regulations in Canada. In addition, we will use our best efforts to comply with any customer requests that fall outside of these local, state, and federal regulations in the U.S. as well as provincial regulations in Canada.

At this time, we cannot sign customer COVID-related policies, however we are taking the appropriate steps to notify our local transportation teams of each request we receive and are using our best efforts to comply. Additionally, Stericycle continues to utilize best practices to keep our team members and others who interact with them at the work site safe. This includes:

  • Requiring that all new and existing Stericycle team members who serve as hospital in-service technicians, OSHA and HIPAA educators, and healthcare specialists are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless unable due to religious or medical exemptions
  • Requiring that all new Stericycle team members who serve as drivers within our field service operations are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless unable due to religious or medical exemptions
  • Educating all team members on the importance and safety of the COVID-19 vaccine
  • Providing paid time off for our staff to become vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Requiring all team members answer COVID-19-symptom screening questions before entering our facilities
  • Providing team members with personal protective equipment (PPE) and mandating their use in Stericycle and customer facilities
  • Maintaining rigorous cleaning protocols to prevent the spread of infection and enforcing social distancing

Our team members’ COVID-19 compliance status is verified and managed internally according to Stericycle guidelines. Stericycle will not release personal information including name, vaccine type, and vaccine date. We have instructed our team members to carry proof of vaccination with them, and they can provide this upon request.

We will continue to evaluate our vaccination and safety protocols and communicate any changes with you as we navigate new challenges brought on by the pandemic. In the meantime, should you have questions, please visit our COVID-19 Resource Hub.
