Even Floods Won’t Stop Us From Helping Our Community
When a local community is negatively impacted, Stericycle employees don’t hesitate to offer a helping hand. At our West Virginia office, we immediately supported our community when the floods devastated local communities this past June.
Teresa Baldwin, a Service Supervisor at our West Virginia site, took the lead on helping West Virginia when they needed it the most. After speaking to a colleague whose mother was trapped because of the floods, Teresa immediately pulled together a plan to offer support to victims and their families.
After spreading the word through word of mouth, flyers and emails, Teresa and her team were able to help flood victims and provide them with everything from baby diapers, wipes and water to coloring books, toys and packages of food. With the floods making it impossible for cars to drive through some of the towns, Teresa and her team walked through mud and water to deliver the food, water and supplies directly to those in need.
At Stericycle, it’s important to us to support our local communities, as well as our employees and the causes that matter the most to them. Supporting the flood victims of West Virginia was one way we were able to contribute our time to individuals who truly needed it.
