Helping Little Angels Soar
For many, the holidays symbolize a time of joy and cheer. However, not every family can afford to enjoy the holidays the way they want. For the past two years, our Indianapolis office has adopted angels through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program, which provides children in need with necessities and presents for the holidays.
Linda Hickam, a Contact Center Representative, led the Angel Tree Program at this Stericycle location. Linda spread the word to her colleagues about this incredible program and encouraged them to buy and donate three to five toys for at least one angel from the Angel Tree.
This holiday season, Linda and her colleagues are able to provide 158 children with everything from beds and sweaters to toys and bikes. The presents have been collected and picked up by the Salvation Army and are ready to be unwrapped by the smiling faces of 158 angels who need some holiday cheer.
Giving back to the community is a large part of Stericycle’s culture. Our Indianapolis office was able to get into the holiday spirit by working together to provide hundreds of children with the holiday season they deserve. Employees described the angels’ wish lists as humble, and wanted to give them much more than they asked for. By working together, our employees were able to provide not only essential items like blankets and sweaters, but also bigger presents such as bikes and PlayStations.
It’s been a wonderful season of giving and we can’t wait to continue our work with the Angel Tree Program next year. Happy holidays!
